Martin Cremer from Liongate presented at Smart Country Convention in Berlin alongside Dr. Matthias Kurz (Ministry of Education and Training NRW) and Dr. Stefan Kaufmann (QUA-LiS NRW) how the Examination Portal NRW distributes central examination tasks to approximately 2,000 schools within the same time window. Liongate operates the portal jointly with both authorities.
Each package remains encrypted until it reaches the school. The operator has no access to the contents.
In the spring 2026 examination round, 18,300 packages were distributed. 99 percent of packages were delivered in under ten seconds.
The portal uses dual-key encryption: the first key is delivered offline from the ministry, the second at release time via the portal. Only both keys together decrypt the package at the school. The system has been in productive operation since June 2025.
